Cara Cara Navels - The sweetest pink oranges - low in acid !

The pinkish red flesh of Cara Cara navels are easy to peel vs the regular navels
The pinkish flesh of Cara Cara and the light orange of the usual  navels .
Cara Cara : The best tasting oranges that are sweet, low in acid with a unique  blend of cherry, rose petals and blackberry taste.  It is a cross between Washington navels and Brazilian Bahia navels.  Cara Cara was named after its first discovery in 1976 at the Hacienda de Cara Cara in Valencia, Venezuela. Now they are grown and harvested in California.

If you are planning to get an orange tree for your fruit garden, be sure to look for this Cara Cara orange tree in  your neighborhood citrus nurseries .  They are hardy and bloom profusely in early spring. They are in season now and are available in most  supermarket under Cara Navels.  Costco are stocking these in large quantities this year because of its popularity.  Try some and you will agree that they are the best tasting oranges, high in fiber, low in acid, easy to peel, not messy and great for a healthy quick snack.
